The WEA Cents for Kids program offers grants to our members so that they may assist students to be better prepare to learn.
The fund will be divided into two broad areas.

Money for field trip transportation |

Prizes for a chess tournament |
|
Materials for a craft project |
|
Money for a guest speaker |
|
Instruments for future musicians |
|
A warm coat for winter |
|
Eye glasses or a visit to the ophthalmologist |
|
School supplies |
|
Membership fees to YMCA or similar organizations |

Taxi fare to the doctor |
|
A scientific calculator |
It is not the intent of Cents for Kids to in any way replace the existing funding of the District or the Community Foundation, but the fund may provide supplemental assistance in order to fill the gaps in funding.
There are many new ideas out there to help teachers. NEA has created a web-site called “Works-4-Me” which are tried and true teaching hints suggested by NEA members. Each week you will receive an e-mail with six helpful (and short) hints to help you in your teaching. They will fall under the following categories: See more click here.
